Delhi Court Extends Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid’s Interim Bail Till October 15, 2024

The Patiala House Court in Delhi has extended Engineer Rashid’s interim bail until October 15 in the Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case. Originally granted bail until October 2, it was first extended by 10 days on October 1 and now further pushed back by three days, according to his lawyer.

Rashid had filed a petition seeking a three-month interim bail to participate in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election campaign. During the hearing, his lawyer requested at least an extension until October 10 for the election period if a three-month bail couldn’t be granted. The court initially allowed bail only until October 2, which was then extended twice.

Engineer Rashid, who had been held in Delhi’s Tihar Jail under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act related to a 2017 terror funding case, has recently been released on interim bail. His party’s participation in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election did not result in significant success.
